Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis has congratulated Ararat Mirzoyan on his reappointment as Armenia’s foreign minister.

In a letter published by the Armenian Foreign Ministry, Gerapetritis expressed confidence that, under Mirzoyan’s stewardship, Armenian diplomacy will continue to make a valuable contribution to peace, stability and international cooperation amid significant regional and international challenges.

The Greek foreign minister emphasized that Greece highly values its longstanding friendship with Armenia, based on close historical ties, shared values and strong relations between the two peoples.

“I look forward to continuing our close cooperation toward further strengthening our bilateral relations, deepening cooperation on issues of mutual interest, including the development of EU-Armenia relations, as well as advancing our shared interests within international organizations, for the benefit of our two countries and peoples,” the Greek foreign minister said in his message.

Following the Civil Contract party’s victory in the June 7 parliamentary elections, the Pashinyan administration began a new term, with nearly all Cabinet members retaining their posts.
