The Armenian parliament will hold an additional session on August 20.
Deputy Speaker Vahagn Aleksanyan said that the additional session will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Fifty-six lawmakers voted in favor of holding the additional session, while three voted against.
Three of the National Assembly’s 12 committees are allocated to the opposition Strong Armenia faction to nominate candidates for chair.
Earlier today, the parliament voted on candidates for the chairs of all 12 committees, but all three candidates nominated by Strong Armenia failed to secure enough votes.
The faction must therefore nominate new candidates.
The parliament is currently discussing the candidacy of Liana Manukyan, nominated by Strong Armenia to chair the Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs.
