Armenian deputy speaker, British ambassador discuss deepening parliamentary ties

Deputy Speaker of Parliament Hayk Konjoryan (Civil Contract) met with British Ambassador to Armenia Alexandra Cole.
According to a readout from the parliament’s press service, Konjoryan stressed the importance of developing parliamentary cooperation with the United Kingdom, as well as exchanging experience and professional support in a number of areas. The deputy speaker said that friendship groups will be formed in the National Assembly in the near future, including the Armenia-United Kingdom friendship group.
At the ambassador’s request, Konjoryan spoke about the priorities of the Civil Contract faction in the legislative work of the newly elected parliament and addressed relations between the government and the opposition.
Cole congratulated Konjoryan on his election as deputy speaker of the National Assembly. The ambassador also emphasized the need to deepen relations between the parliaments of the two countries.
