Kim Yo Jong, director of the General Affairs Department of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) and sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, said on August 19 that she had no information on whether there had been any recent contacts between her brother and US President Donald Trump.

Asian media reported the remarks, according to Interfax.

“As for the recent information from Washington regarding contacts between the leaders of North Korea and the United States, I am completely unaware of it,” she said.

Earlier this week, Trump said Kim Jong Un had responded to his calls for bilateral contacts. Trump said the conversation had been “very positive”.
