Sargis Khandanyan, an MP from the Civil Contract faction of the National Assembly, met with German Bundestag member Philip Hoffmann on August 18. German Ambassador to Armenia Claudia Busch also attended the meeting, according to the National Assembly’s Public Relations and Communication Department.
Welcoming the guests, Khandanyan noted that Armenia-Germany interparliamentary ties had deepened in recent years and cooperation had developed in a number of areas.
Highlighting the importance of the joint declaration on a strategic partnership agenda signed between the two countries last year, Khandanyan said it opened up new opportunities for the two sides to expand cooperation.
The meeting also addressed the close relations between Armenia and the European Union. Khandanyan spoke about the importance of the EU visa liberalisation process for Armenian citizens.
