More than 40 injured in wildfires in Croatia

More than 40 people have been injured in wildfires raging in the area of the Croatian city of Omiš, in what is considered one of the most severe wildfire emergencies in the country’s modern history.

According to Interfax, Croatian public broadcaster HRT reported on August 14 that seven of those injured were in serious condition.

Croatian police have advised drivers to avoid the Omiš area where possible because of the movement of fire engines and rescue vehicles.
