UN Secretary-General congratulates Pashinyan on reappointment

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has congratulated Nikol Pashinyan on his reappointment as Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Guterres said in his message:

“Your Excellency,

I would like to extend my sincere congratulations on your reappointment as Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and wish you every success in your tenure.

Armenia is an important partner of the United Nations in achieving our shared goals centred on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

I am confident that, under your leadership, the Government of Armenia will continue to play a constructive role in strengthening democratic institutions, accelerating climate action, promoting gender equality, advancing human rights, and fostering regional peace and security. I also take this opportunity to encourage your Government to redouble its efforts to promote women’s political participation, including achieving gender equality in the Government and in senior leadership positions.
