Armenia has presented its export potential and investment opportunities to Latin American partners at an event held at the headquarters of the Latin American Integration Association (ALADI) in Montevideo.
The event, titled “Armenia’s Export Potential: New Partnerships, New Opportunities,” was organized by the Embassy of Armenia in Uruguay.
According to the embassy’s readout, ALADI Secretary-General Sergio Abreu welcomed the Armenian Embassy’s active engagement within the organization as an observer state. He emphasized the importance of raising awareness about Armenia’s economic potential, export opportunities, and efforts to expand its presence in international markets.
Armenia’s Ambassador to Uruguay Mariam Gevorgyan presented Armenia’s export potential and key economic indicators in detail, highlighting the importance of ongoing efforts to diversify export markets and the prospects for further expansion in this area.
Paraguay’s Ambassador to Uruguay, ALADI, and MERCOSUR Didier César Olmedo also delivered remarks, congratulating the Armenian Embassy on the initiative and expressing confidence that a new format of cooperation is emerging between Armenia and ALADI member states.
The event was attended by ambassadors of ALADI member states, as well as executives and representatives of dozens of companies involved in import activities.
The event concluded with a tasting of Armenian wines.
ALADI is a regional integration organization that brings together 13 Latin American countries — Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Ecuador, Cuba, Colombia, Mexico, Chile, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela — with the aim of promoting economic cooperation, expanding trade, and advancing integration processes among member states.
Armenia was granted observer status in the organization last year.
