European Council President António Costa will attend the NATO summit in Ankara on July 7-8.
The announcement was made by the European Council’s press service.
“European Council President António Costa will travel to Ankara on 7-8 July. On Tuesday (7 July), he will attend the NATO leaders’ dinner. On Wednesday (8 July), together with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, he will meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan,” the statement said.
During the meeting with Erdogan, Costa and von der Leyen will discuss EU-Türkiye bilateral relations.
The NATO leaders’ working dinner on July 7 will focus on strategic issues, particularly cooperation between the European Union and NATO.
A plenary session involving only the leaders of NATO’s 32 member states will take place on July 8 to discuss the alliance’s specific military commitments.
