Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan attended an event held on the occasion of United States Independence Day. During the reception, he delivered a congratulatory address on behalf of the Government of Armenia, extending his greetings to the American people and highlighting the importance of the Armenia–U.S. partnership and shared values of freedom, independence, and democracy.

Grigoryan's office published the transcript of his remarks.

“On behalf of the Government and on my own behalf, I warmly congratulate all of us on the 250th anniversary of the Independence of the United States of America,” Grigoryan said at the event, attended by government officials, public figures, politicians, and foreign ambassadors, and hosted by Chargé d’Affaires David Allen.

“As early as 250 years ago, the values of freedom, independence, and equality became the foundation for the establishment and steady development of the United States of America. These values continue to play an important role today in the international reputation of the United States and in the deepening of its strong friendship with Armenia.

In the rich agenda of Armenia–U.S. relations, a special place is occupied by the key achievements of our bilateral relations in 2025 and 2026. The joint declaration signed on August 8, 2025, between the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, with the witnessing of the President of the United States, became an important milestone, having a significant impact both on the parties and on the entire region.

Today, with the active engagement of the United States, Armenia and the South Caucasus have entered a new era of peace and stability. This is also evidenced by the recent visits of Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Armenia, the signing of the Charter on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the memoranda of understanding, and the signing of the framework agreement on strategic cooperation regarding the TRIPP project. In addition to being an important guarantor of peace, TRIPP will also serve as a key hub for regional and global transport routes.

Ladies and gentlemen,

Taking this opportunity, I would also like to congratulate our Armenian-American compatriots in the United States, who have contributed to the development of the United States while also strengthening Armenian-American friendship.

Once again, I congratulate the friendly people of the United States on this significant occasion and wish them lasting peace, prosperity, and well-being. Thank you.”
