Armenian officials discuss economic stability, IMF and World Bank cooperation at Constituency Meeting

Armenian Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan and Central Bank Governor Martin Galstyan participated in the Constituency Meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (OEDNE/EDS19), held under the theme “Turning Uncertainty into a Long-Term Opportunity.”
The Ministry of Finance said in a press release that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss issues related to ensuring economic stability and long-term growth amid persistent high uncertainty in the global economy, geopolitical developments, and ongoing structural transformations.
Minister Hovhannisyan held bilateral meetings with Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF); Jasper Wesseling, Treasurer-General at the Netherlands Ministry of Finance; Antonella Bassani, Vice President for Europe and Central Asia at the World Bank; and Sangbu Kim, Vice President for Digital and Artificial Intelligence at the World Bank Group.
The discussions covered Armenia’s macroeconomic developments and outlook, the progress of World Bank programs in Armenia, IMF-supported programs, as well as the results of the Climate Policy Diagnostic mission and the next steps following it. In addition, they addressed the digital transformation agenda and opportunities for deepening cooperation in this area, including initiatives aimed at developing digital infrastructure, strengthening cybersecurity, and digitizing public services.
