South Caucasus discussed at Turkish National Security Council meeting

The agenda of a meeting of Türkiye’s National Security Council, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, included, among other issues, developments in the South Caucasus, according to state media.

The Turkish Anadolu News Agency cited a readout stating that the session touched upon recent developments related to strengthening peace, stability, and cooperation in the South Caucasus.

Regional and international matters were discussed, particularly the situation in the Middle East.

The Turkish security council welcomed the recent US-Iran deal.

The Russo-Ukrainian war was also discussed, with calls on both sides to take steps to achieve a just and sustainable peace and prevent the conflict from spreading further, particularly in the Black Sea region.
