Armenia finalizes preparations for Davis Cup tournament in Tsaghkadzor

Armenian tennis players are holding their final training camp in the resort town of Tsaghkadzor in preparation for the Europe Zone Group IV matches of the 2026 Davis Cup, scheduled to take place from June 16 to 20.

The 2026 Davis Cup is the 114th edition of the Davis Cup, the premier international team competition in men's tennis.

The Davis Cup was last held in Armenia in 2008.

The tournament will be hosted at the Main Sports Complex in Tsaghkadzor.

Mikayel Avetisyan, Henrik Nikoghosyan, Avetik Ghazaryan, Mikayel Avanesyan, Davit Poghosyan and Samvel Aghayan are among the players taking part in the training camp, but the final team roster has not yet been announced.

According to the head coach of Armenia’s men’s national tennis team, Vahe Avetisyan, the squad will be announced after the final training camp.

“We have faced all of the teams participating in this tournament many times before. There are teams we have beaten and teams we have lost to. The only team we have consistently been unable to defeat is Malta. It is certainly an advantage that the tournament is being held in our country, but from another perspective, it will also be psychologically challenging for the players,” Avetisyan told reporters.

National teams from Albania, Andorra, Iceland, Malta and San Marino will travel to Armenia to compete.
