Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has announced that his administration continues to work on improving Armenia’s railway infrastructure, and that a tender has already been announced for the restoration of the Akhurik–Gyumri section.
“I also want to say that, in general, we are carrying out work to bring the railway infrastructure in Armenia to a better condition,” Pashinyan told lawmakers at a joint committee hearing in parliament on the government’s 2025 budget report.
The Prime Minister noted that preparatory work has already begun for the restoration of the Akhurik–Gyumri railway section.
“At present, a tender has also been announced for the restoration of the Akhurik–Gyumri section, which will be carried out using state budget funds,” he added.
Pashinyan further said that work on developing railway infrastructure will be ongoing, and that the government plans to implement new projects with the involvement of international partners.
“Of course, in the future, we will also carry out certain projects related to the railway, including with international partners,” Pashinyan said.
