Armenian Deputy FM, UN Tourism chief discuss cooperation

Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan held a meeting with the Secretary-General of UN Tourism, Shaikha Al Nowais, during the Fifth Ministerial Conference on Feminist Foreign Policy in Madrid, Spain.  

According to the Foreign Ministry’s readout, following up on the meeting held this March in Andorra, the parties reaffirmed their mutual willingness to further develop cooperation between Armenia and UN Tourism and discussed the implementation of previously reached agreements.

Deputy Foreign Minister Abisoghomonyan emphasized the importance of the Organization’s activities aimed at capacity-building in Armenia. The importance of fully utilizing Armenia’s potential in the field of medical tourism was also highlighted.

Speaking about the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, which will be hosted in Armenia, the importance of the active involvement of the UN World Tourism Organization and the implementation of joint initiatives was stressed.
