Azerbaijan and US discuss strategic energy partnership

Azerbaijan and the United States have discussed the key priorities of the strategic energy partnership between the two countries, as well as a number of other issues related to the energy sector.

The announcement was made on X by Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov following a meeting in Baku with a delegation led by Caleb Orr, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy and Business Affairs.

“In a meeting with the U.S. delegation led by Caleb Orr, Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy, and Business Affairs, we reviewed the key priorities of the Azerbaijan-United States strategic energy partnership, which has entered a new stage of development. We exchanged views on regional energy security, the advancement of the oil and gas sector, the expansion of energy interconnections and new cooperation opportunities in the Caspian region.”

On June 1, Caleb Orr was received by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the sidelines of the Baku Energy Forum.
