Armenian defense ministry dismisses reports of shootings, explosions

Armenia’s Defense Ministry on Thursday denied reports circulating in the media and on social networks claiming that shootings and explosions had been recorded in the territory of Armenia.

Defense Minister’s press secretary Aram Torosyan said in a Facebook post that no such incidents had occurred in the territory of the Republic of Armenia.

“No shootings or explosions have been recorded in the territory of the Republic of Armenia and there are none,” Torosyan wrote.

He added that some circles were circulating articles with manipulative headlines aimed at creating unnecessary tension among the public.
