Water resources management to be key priority for next five years – Pashinyan

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said the consolidation and management of water resources would be a key priority for the government over the next five years, speaking during a question-and-answer session in parliament.

He referred to the possibility of using about 200,000 hectares of uncultivated agricultural land across the country.

Pashinyan said that while the government's main priority in the previous period had been the peace agenda, the focus in the coming five years should shift to improving water resource management.

According to the prime minister, high-yield intensive orchards could be developed in some high-altitude areas of the country, provided that appropriate irrigation technologies are used.
