Armenia's balanced and balancing foreign policy amid current geopolitical developments has allowed to navigate turbulent conditions safely and steer the ship of Armenian statehood toward peaceful waters, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said at an event dedicated to Diplomat’s Day.

He noted that efforts are continuing, guided by the same understanding, to lead the country toward the next logical stage- the further institutionalisation of peace and the creation of an environment of tolerance, cooperation and open borders around Armenia.

"Recent years have demonstrated that diplomacy is truly one of the key components of our sovereignty, territorial integrity and security architecture,'' Mirzoyan said.

According to the foreign minister, the current priority is to advance the development agenda in parallel with the institutionalisation of peace, diversify economic ties, create new economic opportunities and explore new horizons for the country.

“Today, diplomacy is not only a shield ensuring security, but also an engine and a compass driving our country forward,” he emphasised.
