Flights from Yerevan to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Doha canceled

Several flights from Yerevan to Middle Eastern cities have been canceled following U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran and the Iranian missile retaliation.

The Yerevan airport’s schedule shows that flights (both outbound and inbound) between Yerevan and Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Doha have been canceled.

Dubai's international airport, which handles more than 1,000 flights a day, sustained damage during an overnight Iranian retaliatory attack on sites across the Arab Gulf states, while Abu Dhabi and Kuwait's international airports were also hit, Reuters reported.

Dubai Airports suspended all flights at Dubai International and at Al Maktoum International until further notice, urging passengers not to travel.

The U.S. and Israel launched their attack on Iran on Saturday, killing Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and prompting Iran to retaliate with missile and drone attacks.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was targeting US bases and assets in the region as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack.

Authorities in Bahrain confirmed an attack on the US naval base, known officially as Naval Support Activity Bahrain, the BBC reported. Explosions were heard in Kuwait, and the local news agency Kuna said that a drone targeting the international airport caused "minor injuries to several employees" with "limited" damage to a terminal.

In Doha, Qatar, footage also showed dozens of people fleeing from a falling missile in a residential area.

US air defenses shot down a drone over a US military base near Erbil, Iraq, the Reuters news agency reports.

A luxury hotel in Dubai was hit as Iran launched strikes across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and ongoing attack against it by the US and Israel, the BBC reported. Video verified by the BBC shows a fire raging at Fairmont The Palm Hotel on Saturday in the United Arab Emirates' largest city. Local officials also said four people were injured in a blaze at a building in the Palm Jumeirah area.
