Formula for solving all problems is peace, says Armenian President

Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan has concluded his state visit to Greece.

At a press briefing at the end of the visit, the Armenian President emphasized that during his meetings with Greek counterparts, discussions were primarily focused on ongoing global developments and their solutions.

“The formula for these solutions is one: peace. When we draw historical parallels between Armenia and Greece, we see that we are very similar. Interestingly, they too ultimately reached the conclusion that the solution is one: establishing peaceful and friendly relations with neighbors,” the President of Armenia told reporters.

Vahagn Khachaturyan highlighted that Greece’s current economic indicators are above the European average. According to him, for any country’s economic development, political conditions are necessary—first and foremost peace, then low taxes to allow businesses to grow, as well as predictability.

“We are striving for the same. Greece’s advantage over us is that they have the factor of predictability—they know they are in the EU, they know they can expect European investments,” Vahagn Khachaturyan said, recalling that only a short time has passed since Greece managed to overcome a crisis situation by resolving the challenges it faced.

According to the President, Greece’s example can be instructive for Armenia. “We must rely on our own strengths, abilities, and capacities. It is very important not to be detached from reality. We need to understand that everything is starting anew—I mean the peace process. And we have work to do to adapt to living in conditions of peace,” said the President of Armenia.

The delegation led by Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan arrived in Greece on February 17 for a state visit. During the visit, the Armenian President met with the President of Greece and the Speaker of Parliament, as well as with Greek business leaders.
