Armenia and Brazil explore cooperation in social protection

Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Arsen Torosyan held a meeting with the Ambassador of Brazil to Armenia, Fabio Vaz Pitaluga, to discuss a number of matters of mutual interest in the social protection sector.
According to the ministry’s readout, the minister and the ambassador explored opportunities for cooperation in the labor and employment sectors, as well as in social support.
Minister Torosyan lauded the friendly relations between Armenia and Brazil, emphasizing the importance of the existing potential for expanding and developing sectoral cooperation.
The minister presented the main reforms and programs implemented by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, particularly highlighting the introduction of a new system for assessing social vulnerability, as well as initiatives aimed at protecting the rights of persons with disabilities and promoting women’s economic empowerment.
Ambassador Fabio Vaz Pitaluga outlined programs being implemented in Brazil in the areas discussed and expressed readiness, if needed, to support the exchange of experience and the localization of programs.
