UK to allocate another £500m to strengthen Ukraine's air defence

UK Defence Secretary John Healey has announced ahead of a meeting of ministers at NATO headquarters in Brussels that London is set to allocate an additional £500 million for urgent support to Ukraine's air defence, Ukrainska Pravda reported.

"This afternoon, I'll be confirming that Britain is providing an extra half a billion pounds in urgent air defence to Ukraine," Healey said.

He stressed that the UK's participation in joint NATO projects and its support for Ukraine is "a force for good in the world, building a new deal for European security within NATO".

"I'm proud of the UK's Armed Forces, I'm proud of the UK's leadership, I'm proud of the UK's commitment to our allies. We will back you. We will defend you. We will fight with you in this new era of threat and hard power," Healey emphasized.
