Armenia’s Minister of Health, Anahit Avanesyan, said on Wednesday that 2025 was a “historic and transformative” year for the country’s healthcare system.
“In December 2025, the legislative package for universal health coverage was adopted. The system was launched on January 1 and has been a success ever since, serving to maintain and restore the health of our citizens, and most importantly, to save lives,” the minister said at a press conference.
Avanesyan also noted that construction work on the outpatient network began in 2025.
“This will bring a significant qualitative change. In the first phase, the construction of 29 outpatient facilities is underway at various stages, and starting from 2026 they will begin to be commissioned,” Avanesyan said.
