Economy overtakes politics in Armenia–Azerbaijan agenda: Pashinyan

According to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, economic issues are increasingly taking precedence over political ones on the agenda for the normalization of relations with Azerbaijan.

The Prime Minister made the remarks in an interview with Public Television of Armenia, commenting on the Armenia–Azerbaijan normalization process as well as his discussions on the issue  with U.S. Vice President JD Vance.

“I want to note that the further we move away from August 8, the more political objectives are being realized and the more a transformation toward the economy is taking place. In the Armenia–Azerbaijan agenda, we see that the economy is overtaking politics,” Pashinyan said.

According to the Prime Minister, the political declarations and statements signed between Armenia and Azerbaijan attract economic attention, and when economic priorities begin to outweigh political statements, it indicates that the political agreements have achieved their purpose and are being implemented.
