Armenian Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, WFP Armenia Director discuss cooperation programs

Armenia’s Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Arsen Torosyan, on Tuesday received the Director of the Office of the UN World Food Programme in Armenia, Leila Meliouh, and Deputy Director Oscar Ekdahl, the ministry said in a press release.

During the meeting, cooperation programs implemented in the field of social protection in 2020–2025 were discussed, and their results were summarized.

In particular, reference was made to the introduction, testing, and institutionalization of the food card program, under which about 6,000 beneficiaries received assistance, including displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh.

The development of the “Social Ambulance” system and the improvement of social support mechanisms in rapid-response situations were also discussed.

The parties discussed further deepening of cooperation.
