Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, held a meeting with U.S. Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs Jacob Helberg, who is accompanying U.S. Vice President JD Vance during his official visit to Armenia. Enterprise Armenia CEO Gohar Abajyan also attended the meeting.

According to the foreign ministry’s readout, FM Mirzoyan and Under Secretary Helberg discussed ongoing and potential new initiatives aimed at the consistent development of the Armenia–U.S. strategic partnership. Both sides noted with satisfaction that the memoranda of understanding signed in Washington on August 8, regarding cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence and semiconductors, have established a solid foundation for collaboration, and tangible results of this cooperation are already evident.

“The interlocutors expressed their readiness to continue active efforts to promote Armenia–U.S. cooperation in the high-tech sector and, more broadly, to expand economic collaboration, with a focus on stimulating investments, taking into account the expertise developed in these fields in Armenia and the rapidly evolving environment. Ararat Mirzoyan and Jacob Helberg also discussed prospects in other areas of mutual interest, particularly in ensuring the extraction and supply chains of energy, critical minerals, and rare earths, as well as the development of infrastructure,” the ministry said in the readout.
