U.S. Vice President JD Vance said there is significant international interest in investing in Armenia.

He made the remarks after a private meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, responding to a journalist’s question regarding the TRIPP project.

He said they had talked with a number of partners in the region and across the world who are very interested in the project and view it as a fertile investment opportunity.

Vance noted that a considerable amount of time was spent discussing how the process could be accelerated, adding that the Prime Minister  also wants things to move as quickly as possible, as economic interconnectedness and the economic development are good for prosperity and for peace.

Vance stressed that the United States would play a positive and constructive role, noting that money is not the issue, as there is strong capital interest in the project.

"There are a lot of people across the world who think that they can make a good return on investment by investing in Armenia and investing in this trip project. I think the question is really, how do we get the peace deal into a good next phase”.

"This does not happen overnight, but I think we've already made great progress in just the months since August 8,’’ the US Vice President noted, adding that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is the person who is capable of building long-term cooperation.
