Armenia's Territorial Administration Minister meets Iran's Ambassador

Armenia's Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure David Khudatyan met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia Khalil Shirgholami.

The minister welcomed the ambassador and congratulated him on assuming his mission, the ministry said in a press release.

Khudatyan expressed confidence that the ambassador's activities would contribute to the further strengthening and development of friendly relations between Armenia and Iran.

During the meeting, the sides discussed a number of issues related to the broad scope of Armenia-Iran cooperation. In particular, they touched upon matters concerning the energy, transport, and road construction sectors.

The minister emphasized the importance of the swift construction of the Iran-Armenia power transmission line, as well as the need to deepen aviation cooperation and increase the number of flights between the two countries.

The parties agreed to continue discussions on several other items on the agenda in the near future.
