2025 growth to be at least 6%, says economy minister

Economic growth for 2025 is expected to reach at least 6%, Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan said on Friday.

According to the Minister, in the first three quarters of 2025, Armenia’s economy recorded growth of 5.2%, 6.4%, and 6.2%, respectively, while even higher growth is expected in the fourth quarter.

“The third quarter was the strongest, and I can confidently say that the fourth quarter will be even higher, based on indicators of economic activity,” Papoyan stated at a press briefing.

According to him, Armenia’s gross domestic product (GDP) in 2025, at current prices, is expected to reach approximately AMD 10.86 trillion, while in dollar terms GDP will reach up to $28 billion, compared to $26 billion in 2024.

The Minister also reported that per capita GDP in dollar terms in 2025 is expected to exceed $9,000. “In 2024, this figure was $8,556, and in 2025 we expect to surpass the $9,000 mark,” he said.

According to Papoyan, the economic activity index in 2025 reached 9.1%, compared to 8.3% in the previous year. “All sectors of the economy have grown,” the Minister concluded.
