The 2026 Winter Olympics, officially branded Milano Cortina 2026, will open on 6 February at the San Siro stadium in Milan.
Italy is hosting the Winter Olympics for the third time.
The Games are spread across northern Italy, with Milan serving as the primary city host and Cortina d’Ampezzo anchoring the mountain events.
The 2026 Winter Olympics will run through 22 February.
Italy last hosted the Winter Olympics in Turin in 2006, while Cortina d’Ampezzo hosted in 1956.
According to the International Olympic Committee (IOC), a record 47% of the athletes in Milan will be female — a 1.6% increase from the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022.
A major milestone for female participation, of the 116 medal events, 50 will be in women's competition (the most ever) and 12 will be mixed. Among the new women's events are luge doubles and the ski jumping individual large hill, while there is also a mixed skeleton relay.

Armenia will be represented by cross-country skiers Mikayel Mikayelyan and Katya Galstyan, alpine skier Harutyun Harutyunyan, as well as the figure skating pair Karina Akopova and Nikita Rakhmanin.
