US President touches on Armenia-Azerbaijan relations

US President Donald Trump touched on Armenia-Azerbaijan relations in a speech at the National Prayer Breakfast, claiming that he had resolved the conflict between the two countries.

Trump said that within one year he had managed to settle several long-standing conflicts, including those between Cambodia and Thailand, Kosovo and Serbia, Pakistan and India, Israel and Iran, as well as Armenia and Azerbaijan.

He noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin called him and said: ''I’ve been trying to settle that war for 10 years. Armenia and Azerbaijan.''

Trump stated that Armenia and Azerbaijan had been in conflict for many years, adding that the issue had been resolved very quickly.
