43,786 families have been lifted out of poverty in Armenia since 2018, when the Pashinyan administration took office, according to Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Arsen Torosyan.
“In 2018, there were 92,564 families registered in the social assistance system for vulnerable persons. We now have 48,778 families, which means that these families have moved out of poverty,” the minister said at a parliamentary hearing convened by the ruling Civil Contract party.
Torosyan also reported that the number of registered job seekers and unemployed citizens is decreasing, while extreme poverty in the country stands at 0.6 percent and overall poverty at 21.7 percent.
