Armenian FM highlights deepening EU ties as part of government policy

Deepening relations with the European Union is part of the Republic of Armenia’s political agenda, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said at the PACE session while answering questions from delegates.

"Deepening relations with the European Union is part of Armenia’s political agenda," Mirzoyan said, reminding delegates that the Armenian Parliament has passed the relevant legislation on this matter.

"This law makes the pursuit of EU membership and the work toward achieving this goal mandatory for any Armenian government," the Foreign Minister emphasized.

He also added that Armenia and the EU are currently taking numerous steps to deepen sectoral cooperation.

"Sectoral integration, visa liberalization, and participation in numerous programs. We hope to continue our joint efforts," Ararat Mirzoyan said.
