In the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for June 7, 2026, the Republic Party will nominate its chairman, former Prime Minister of Armenia Aram Sargsyan (1999–2000), as its candidate for prime minister.

Sargsyan announced the decision in a video message posted on the party’s Facebook page.

“I will be the candidate for prime minister, and I think this is natural. It is not that I dream of being a candidate for prime minister,” he said.

Sargsyan added that he would like to see a political force that fully adheres to Western values represented in Armenia’s parliament.
