Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan said that cooperation between Armenia and India has reached a new level across almost all areas, speaking at an event dedicated to India’s national holiday, the 77th anniversary of the founding of the Republic.
Grigoryan noted that for Armenia and the Armenian people, India is not only a superpower but also a reliable friend, bound by centuries-old historical ties, political commonalities, and relations based on mutual trust.
Referring to the adoption of India’s Constitution 77 years ago, he said it reflected the will of the Indian people, who, in their struggle for independence, chose the path of building an independent, sovereign, and democratic state. He added that Armenia, with its millennia-old civilizational heritage, combines tradition and innovation in an exemplary manner.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, India's dynamic economy, scientific and technological progress, and growing role in international relations make a significant contribution to global development. He stressed that Armenia highly appreciates India's role in ensuring regional and global stability.
Grigoryan said Armenia views the comprehensive deepening of relations with India as a long-term strategic direction serving the interests of both peoples, adding that in recent years the two countries have managed to elevate cooperation to a new level in nearly all fields.
He emphasized the determination to fully realize the untapped potential in technology, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, tourism, and other areas of mutual interest, with the aim of raising bilateral relations to a qualitatively new level.
Grigoryan also highlighted cultural cooperation as one of the strong bridges of partnership, noting that it expands interpersonal contacts and strengthens friendship between the two nations. He added that joint efforts have given new impetus to political dialogue, cooperation on international platforms, and the expansion of the legal and contractual framework, expressing confidence that Armenian-Indian cooperation will continue to strengthen on a solid foundation in the spirit of mutually beneficial partnership.
