Armenian Deputy FM meets Italian legislators

Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan met with Giulio Centemero, member of Italy’s Chamber of Deputies and head of the legislature's Italy–Armenia Friendship Group, and Piero Fassino, member of the Chamber of Deputies and the friendship group, who also serves as the rapporteur on Armenia at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).

The parties expressed satisfaction with the steadily growing and effective cooperation between the parliaments of Armenia and Italy in recent years. The importance of inter-parliamentary dialogue in developing and strengthening bilateral relations was emphasized, the foreign ministry said in a press release. 

The meeting also addressed the strategic agenda of the Armenia–EU partnership. Deputy Foreign Minister Kostanyan briefed the Italian legislators on developments in the South Caucasus, as well as Armenia’s foreign policy priorities within the context of the peace established in the region.

Ideas were exchanged on projects aimed at enhancing regional connectivity, including the new opportunities expected from the implementation of the TRIPP project.
