Advances in Armenia–Türkiye normalization to boost Armenia–Azerbaijan process, says official

Armenian Vice Speaker of Parliament and Special Envoy for Normalization with Türkiye Ruben Rubinyan said on Monday that progress in the Armenia–Türkiye normalization process will boost the Armenia–Azerbaijan process.

He was asked to comment at a press briefing on Türkiye linking the two processes.

“Our position has not changed. The Armenia–Türkiye normalization process and the Armenia–Azerbaijan process are separate, but since we are in the same region, they can influence each other. We believe that progress in the Armenia–Türkiye normalization process will not only not harm the Armenia–Azerbaijan process, but will also help it and provide new momentum,” Rubinyan told reporters.

He emphasized that it is also impossible to overlook the significant progress in the Armenia–Azerbaijan process, including the August 8 declaration on peace, the at least partial reopening of the railway, and so on.

“Overall, I believe the processes are moving in a positive direction. We are already seeing some results, and we will see others in due course,” Rubinyan said.
