Speaker of Parliament Alen Simonyan said it is a matter of time before all remaining Armenian captives held in Azerbaijan are repatriated.
Simonyan, a senior member of the ruling Civil Contract party, reiterated at a press briefing that the Armenian government is making constant efforts to secure the release of all Armenian captives held in Azerbaijan. He said the release of four captives earlier this week was the result of that work.
“As often as we meet and talk, there is probably no topic we discuss as much as this one. It is not only about captives; we also constantly discuss the issue of missing persons. This process will be completed when no one has any unanswered questions left and when none of our compatriots remain there. For us, there is no distinction — everyone must return, and it is only a matter of time. I am confident of that,” Simonyan said.
