Subsidy programs deliver over 300 km of asphalted and paved streets in 2025

Under the subsidy programs, around 265 kilometers of streets were constructed, fully renovated, and asphalted last year, compared to 215 kilometers in 2024.

The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure told Armenpress that the total cost of the street reconstruction and asphalting works amounted to 27.8 billion drams.

For the co-financing of subsidy programs, 33 billion 635 million drams were allocated from the 2025 state budget for 445 sub-programs, in accordance with 14 decisions of the Cabinet.

“We can state that in 2025, subsidy programs with a total value of approximately 62 billion drams were implemented in the communities of the Republic of Armenia. Of this amount, 33.635 billion drams were allocated from the state budget of the Republic of Armenia in accordance with relevant government decisions, 27.6 billion drams constituted co-financing by the communities of the Republic of Armenia, and 683 million drams were provided as co-financing by other investors,” the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure reported.

In addition to asphalting works, streets with a total length of 38 kilometers were also constructed, rehabilitated, and paved, at an overall cost of 3.7 billion drams.

As part of street lighting system construction and rehabilitation works, with a total cost of 707.2 million drams, approximately 138 kilometers of lighting systems were built and renovated (245 km in 2024).

Water supply and drainage systems with a total length of about 452 kilometers were constructed and restored at an overall cost exceeding 8 billion drams, providing access to services for 30,200 households. Notably, in 2024, approximately 400 kilometers of water pipelines were also constructed and restored.

The total cost of irrigation system construction and rehabilitation programs amounted to 5.38 billion drams. As a result, approximately 120 kilometers of irrigation systems were constructed and renovated (150 km in 2024). The implemented works benefited 14,992 households, while the irrigated land area totaled 4,550 hectares.

Under the settlement gasification program, the implemented works created access to natural gas for 9,900 households. The total cost of the works amounted to 2.46 billion drams, and the length of gas pipelines constructed and renovated reached 152 kilometers (198 km were constructed and rehabilitated in 2024).

Extensive work has been carried out in the construction, rehabilitation, renovation, and landscaping of preschool institutions. A total of around 58 preschool facilities were built, rehabilitated, renovated, and improved at an overall cost of 6.3 billion drams, which will accommodate 5,145 children.

The total cost of repairs to the common shared components of apartment blocks amounted to 2.7 billion drams. Within this framework, roofs and entrances of 135 multi-apartment buildings were repaired, benefiting 3,568 households.

Under the subsidy programs, works worth 2.3 billion drams were also carried out on public buildings, while more than 1 billion drams were allocated to the construction and rehabilitation of parks and public gardens.

The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure emphasized that during the reporting period, both programs implemented in 2025 and those approved in 2022–2024 and carried over were executed.
