The Republic of Armenia and the European Union have broad scope for cooperation in the modernization or establishment of Armenia’s border crossing points, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Wednesday.

Pashinyan spoke about new possible directions for cooperation between Armenia and the EU during the AIISA Security Forum titled Armenia and Peace: At the Intersection of Risks and Opportunities.

“I believe that we have broad scope for cooperation with the European Union in the modernization or establishment of border crossing points. For example, a large and modern customs checkpoint is currently being built on the Armenia-Iran border within the framework of Armenia–EU cooperation,” Pashinyan emphasized.

In the context of developing and deepening the partnership with the EU, the Prime Minister of Armenia also expressed gratitude for the support provided to Armenia for the second time under the European Peace Facility.
