Iran comments on Pashinyan's intention to establish strategic partnership with Tehran

Iran is committed to continuing the development of relations with Armenia in various fields, Iranian media outlets report, citing a statement by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei.
Referring to a statement made a few days ago by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan that Yerevan intends to sign a strategic partnership document with Tehran, Baghaei noted that the two countries maintain very good relations.
He stressed that Iran is determined to continue these relations in various fields.
According to the spokesperson, Tehran regulates its foreign relations based on national interests, and relations with Armenia are no exception. He emphasized that bilateral ties are based on a clear understanding of mutual interests, challenges and shared priorities.
Baghaei also stated that Iran respects the right of states to maintain relations with other countries, provided that such relations do not harm Tehran's interests.
