Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov believes that the issue of tariffs for cargo transportation from Azerbaijan to Armenia via Georgian railways has been resolved and that the route will be used again, the Azerbaijani APA agency reported, citing the Foreign Minister’s remarks at a press conference summarizing the current year.
He said that the tariff applied by Georgia was indeed very high: "This raised questions in Azerbaijan, because it did not correspond to the existing practice. In a short period of time, the Georgian leadership intervened in the issue and the issue was resolved. A tariff in full accordance with market conditions was agreed between the companies. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Georgian leadership. This shows that Azerbaijan-Georgia relations are friendly. I think this issue has been resolved and that route will be used again."
