Iran’s new Ambassador to Armenia presents credentials to Deputy FM

Iran’s new Ambassador to Armenia, Khalil Shirgholami, presented a copy of his credentials to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vahan Kostanyan.

"The Deputy Minister extended his congratulations to the Ambassador on the commencement of his mission and expressed confidence that he would make a valuable contribution to the further strengthening and deepening of the relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the foreign ministry said in a press release.

During the discussion following the ceremony, the sides emphasized the strategic nature of the dialogue between Armenia and Iran, the well-established atmosphere of mutual trust, as well as their shared readiness to continue and expand multi-sectoral cooperation, particularly within the framework of infrastructure projects.

The Deputy FM and the Iranian Ambassador also exchanged views on a number of issues on the regional and international agenda.
