The Armenian Ministry of Defense has dismissed as disinformation a report by a journalist who claimed that Azerbaijani forces opened fire from Nakhchivan toward Armenian military positions.
“This does not correspond to reality; it is yet another piece of disinformation. What is this, if not a manifestation of a hybrid campaign directed against the state?” said Aram Torosyan, spokesperson for the Armenian Ministry of Defense.
The report was made by Sputnik Armenia journalist Davit Galstyan, who claimed that he had information that Azerbaijani military forces stationed in Nakhchivan opened cross-border small-arms fire toward Armenian military positions on the evening of December 23. Galstyan said the shooting was not targeted.
