Pashinyan chairs meeting of Constitutional Reform Council

The meeting of the Constitutional Reform Council was held under the chairmanship of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, with officials who are not members of the council also participating as guests. The constitutional reform process was presented within the framework of the session’s agenda. Minister of Justice and Chair of the Constitutional Reform Council Srbuhi Galyan reported on the proposed regulations within the conceptual directions being developed, presenting their legal justifications, target orientation, and systemic impact in the context of the development of the constitutional order.

In particular, details were presented on strengthening mechanisms for full balance and mutual restraint of authorities, further improving legal frameworks, enhancing the effectiveness of public administration institutions, and ensuring the stability and functionality of constitutional institutions.

The discussion focused on measures aimed at strengthening these mechanisms and on issues related to the revision of constitutional regulations. An exchange of views took place, during which participants presented observations and proposals from the perspective of constitutional principles, legal predictability, and the strengthening of the rule of law.

Prime Minister Pashinyan underscored the importance of increasing the effectiveness of joint work among relevant state bodies and ensuring the coordinated and coherent organization of activities in order to safeguard the legal integrity and continuity of the reform process.
