Armenia, Egypt discuss agricultural cooperation

Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan, during a visit to Egypt, met with Minister of Agriculture Alaa Farouk.

According to a readout issued by the ministry, they discussed prospects for cooperation in the fields of agriculture and agro-industry, with a particular focus on investment opportunities aimed at expanding food and beverage production capacities in Armenia, using local raw materials and exporting to the markets of Egypt and other countries.

As another promising area of cooperation, the development of agriculture under conditions of water scarcity and non-irrigated farming was highlighted.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Minister Papoyan invited Alaa Farouk to participate in the Crossroads of Peace Investment Summit scheduled for 2026 in Armenia.
