Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan received NATO Deputy Secretary General Radmila Shekerinska, the Foreign Ministry said in a readout.
The parties praised the progress in the development of Armenia-NATO cooperation, emphasizing that joint efforts have created prerequisites for further deepening the partnership. Minister Mirzoyan expressed hope that the new Armenia-NATO partnership program will provide an opportunity to develop relations with a more ambitious agenda.
The meeting focused on various areas of cooperation between Armenia and NATO, including programs aimed at strengthening Armenia’s resilience and advancing reforms. The sides also noted with satisfaction the cooperation formed through Armenia's participation in NATO peacekeeping missions.
Minister Mirzoyan presented the latest developments in the process of normalizing relations with neighboring countries. He highly appreciated NATO's support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia, as well as for the establishment of peace in the region. The sides exchanged views on steps aimed at further institutionalizing peace.
The parties also discussed the opportunities arising from the unblocking of regional communications.
