Volume of trade between Armenia and EAEU member states continues to grow – EEC

The volume of trade turnover between Armenia and other EAEU member states in the first nine months of this year exceeds the same period in 2022 by 51%. Compared to 2023, the figure has maintained a 2% growth.

In a response to an Armenpress correspondent in Moscow, the Eurasian Economic Commission emphasized that this trade dynamic is driven both by the stabilization of the base and by positive trends in trade and economic cooperation between Armenia and other Union countries.

According to the EEC, trade turnover between Armenia and EAEU partners in 2024 saw a sharp increase, resulting from short-term and atypical activity in certain trade transactions.

According to the Commission, it has created a relatively high statistical base, meaning that a return to more moderate and realistic growth rates is expected in 2025, consistent with the trends observed in previous years.

Positive developments have been observed in some food and agricultural exports from Armenia to EAEU countries this year. In particular, export volumes of vegetables, fruits, flowers, canned goods, as well as certain electronic equipment and footwear, have increased.

At the same time, a notable decrease was recorded in the export of ferroalloys, molybdenum ores and concentrates, and some textile products. The EEC expects moderate but stable trade growth in 2026.

Maintaining Armenia’s high economic growth, deepening cooperation with EAEU countries, and gradually stabilizing logistics systems are expected to play a decisive role in this trend. Strengthening consumer demand will also contribute positively.

The Commission also notes that while certain risks remain, the overall outlook is positive.
