Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has arrived at the government headquarters in Moscow to take part in the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, chaired by the prime ministers of the EAEU member states.
Pashinyan was welcomed by Russian PM Mikhail Mishustin.
As part of his visit to Moscow, the Armenian PM will also attend an international conference on cooperation in science and technology.
The Armenian government’s aircraft carrying Prime Minister Pashinyan and his delegation, bound for Moscow, was redirected to Saint Petersburg because the airspace over the Russian capital was temporarily closed in the early hours of Thursday, the Armenian PM’s spokesperson, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, said on Facebook.
The aircraft landed safely at Saint Petersburg’s Pulkovo Airport.
In the morning, Prime Minister Pashinyan continued his trip and traveled on to Moscow.
According to Russian media reports, the airspace over Moscow was closed due to a massive Ukrainian UAV attack.
The Prime Minister was traveling to Moscow after concluding his official visit to Germany.
